Ride Leader: Jim Ballenger

We met at Wendy’s on Hwy 378 at 9am with a huge black cloud overhead. We were headed for Extreme Power Sports in Sumter. There were 6 bikes and 7 brave souls that decided to try to make it to Sumter ahead of the rain. Not only did we make it to there safely, but we made it without getting one drop of rain on us. When we arrived the guys went to see about getting their bikes Dynode. Mike who had gone on ahead was already in line and waiting. The ladies went inside to browse around and see what was on sale.

After about an hour or so four more Star Riders showed up in a car, not wanting to take a chance of getting drowned out in a down-pouring rain. We sat around, talked and ate hotdogs. Along around 11:30am the four riders in the car decided to leave and not long the rest decided to go on over to Ray’s Motorcycle in Sumter just to look around, again with out getting rained on. Upon arriving at Ray’s and parking the bikes the rain came but only for a few moments and was gone. There was a group of sport bike riders from Ridgeway, SC (Wolf Pack) on their way to Myrtle Beach. We spoke with them for a little while; Cajun knew some of them from his work. The rain had stopped so it was time to ride again this time we were headed for Maddness Motorcycle in Lugoff, SC. From there we decided to head to Sonic drive in for hamburgers. Thanks Jim for a very wonderful day of riding, dodging the rain and fellowship.
