Ride to Beaufort

The weather was going to be ideal; unusually warm even for SC in January and so it was.  An impromptu ‘Let’s go riding” kind of a ride out to Beaufort for seafood; we had 10 members on 8 bikes at the start and gathered up 2 more members on 2 bikes at our first stop.  This was a great ride already!

Curt lead us the first half of the way to beautiful Beaufort and Mike did the honor of guiding us in on final approach, taking us on a short tour thru town and across the bay.  He knows the area and made it interesting for all of us.

We got to the Shrimp Shack and made short work of the seafood including the famous shrimp burgers and shrimp dinners.  Afterwards, Mike brought us around St. Helena Island to take in some awesome ocean and tidal area views and then a stop into Beaufort to walk off lunch and then ice cream.

Of course the total experience included all the fun that goes along with any gathering of 124 Starriders; It could have been raining, it could have been cold; Starriders find the great ride regardless.  That this day included no rain and that it was in the 70’s and it was January – just more goodness on top of it all.
