CHAPTER #124 October 15, 2007
Cajun opened the meeting and welcomed everyone. He asked for our new guests to identify themselves and Mike Graves had his family with him this evening. Melanie Graves attended with their children Shelby, Sterling and the little bambino.
Cajun talked about the ride to Conway to assist the Myrtle beach group with the Feed the Children distribution and what a rewarding experience it was for those of us who went. There will be another FTC trailer on Nov 10 at the Pilot Truck Stop on I-95, exit 52. Staging will be on Lucas St and will wind up at House of Hope on Darlington St. Florence Chapter 374 will be providing refreshments. Our chapter will be leave exit 82 off of I-20 at 6:30 am.
Saturday we met up with the Beaufort group to go to the Shriner’s Hospital to deliver the donations they collected. We had 10 bikes ride with their 5 bikes and had a wonderful trip. The hospital fed us and treated us wonderfully. It was their 80th anniversary and they had food, musical entertainment, clowns, cake, and tours of the hospital available. After the visit to the hospital, a few of our group broke off and headed for the hills for a little curvy riding. Deb Ellingson had her first experience scraping floorboards on the parkway and we heard she was up until at least 1AM talking about it! If you want to see a huge grin, just ask her! We have a super group and our friendships get stronger with every ride.
Cajun asked if anyone had Saturday’s ride planned. Watch the message board for the ride announcement. We will surely be riding to eat!
We started the sign-up for the Christmas party and the cost is $10.00 per person. The party will be our regular meeting time, 7:00 PM at Murray’s, third Monday in December.
Lea presented the treasurer’s report.
Lea and Cajun are hosting a Halloween party at their home on Oct 31st. Lea gave directions and went over the menu. You have to bob for an apple for admittance and everyone’s welcome to come. Lea will post directions on the message board.
Curt let us know that we have ridden over 5000 miles as a group this year with each ride averaging well over 200 miles. This group really travels!
Craig said the corn maze ride is still on. We will be meeting at the Flying J. Watch the message board for details.
