The Rumblings

NEWSLETTER FOR STAR RIDERS COLUMBIA, SC
CHAPTER #124 September 18, 2006

Jim Ballenger called the meeting to order as Cajun supervised the proceedings from his wheelchair. We were all very happy to see Cajun there.

We welcomed our visitors from Elgin, Dan Sherif who rode a V-Star. Kaylin Wardlaw was also recognized, she rides on her Pop’s Kawasaki Vulcan 1600.

Scott talked about his upcoming ride which will be his first as a ride leader. The route is around 149 miles heading through Blackville and Barnwell. We will be meeting at 9 am at the Union 76 at K-Mart in Lexington with kicks up at 9:30 am. The ride will go to the Amish restaurant and Healing Springs.

Cajun talked about the Vietnam Memorial Wall that will be coming out of Ga. on I-95 on Oct. 24th. There will be a rest stop in Hardeville then proceed on to Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, from there the escort will go on to Thunder Tower. Details are on the web calendar.

Curt’s club ride will be on Oct. 14th to the Southport Ferry in N.C. The ride will stop in Kure Beach for lunch after the ferry ride. It will be a great day! Expect to ride about 200 miles there and 200 miles back.

Lea announced that our Christmas Party will be at Murray’s on the third Monday in December.

Carrie won the 50/50 pot this month.

Lea gave the treasurer’s report.

I went over the minutes of the last meeting.

Cajun thanked everyone for the calls, e-mails and visits he has received since his accident.

Vera asked about any upcoming charity rides and asked for any info to be sent to Cajun for posting on our web site.

I asked for everyone to update the roster before leaving, the meeting was adjourned.

There were 50 members present at this month’s meeting.

Respectfully Submitted
